Greetings from Colorado

Shalom! Peace be with you. How have you been this hot summer? We’ve in Colorado for nearly two months to serve at our long term overseas missionary training (XTrack).  We’ve traveled a lot this year.  About as much as we normally travel during the year for ministry.  Sometimes when we wake up in the morning, we think for a moment, “Where am I?”   Please pray that we find strength in the Lord as we are being filled with the Holy Spirit through our many travels and schedules.

The night before we arrived in Colorado to lead the training, we learned that Damien’s grandmother passed away.  After landing in Colorado we turned back around to be with the family in Tennessee and attend grandma’s funeral.  She was a woman of faith, always warm, and always positive.  Our family, her church, and what seems like the entire community misses grandma.  We are all sad to lose her but we are at the same time encouraged by her life and have even more hope for heaven.  Please pray that our non-believing family comes to know the deep love, forgiveness, and peace of Christ even as a followup of the celebration of the life of Eva Brooks.

Xtrack this year has 31 new full-time missionaries who will be sent to Europe, Middle East, Africa, and Asia.  Some of the blessings of this training are that we have small coaching sessions, large classroom meetings, individual appointments, worship, ministry planning, world view discussion, culture related exercises, and language learning strategies among other items, with trainers ranging in backgrounds, expertise, languages, and ministry experience from different parts of the world.  Some trainers are with us the entire summer while others come in just for a small time.  All told we have 31 people on the training team and 21 children are attending a training tailored for them as they prepare to become missionary kids. Everything is designed to help the missionaries and their kids practically transition and live well overseas.  This training will finish soon and most of the missionaries will depart directly for their international assignments.  Please pray for their safety, health, families, and ministry.

We are as always so thankful for your prayerful partnership with us. Thank you.

This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.  And if we know that he hears—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him. (1 John 5:14-15)

Prayer Requests:
  1. Raising Financial Support: We are going to Washington DC in August for a month to raise up financial ministry partners.  We currently need $1,300 monthly.  Please pray that we will meet the ministry partners God has prepared so that we can return to our mission field as soon as possible.   If God is leading you to give now you can go to our ministry give site at https://give.cru.org/0548712 or call (888) 278-7233.
  2. Health and Leadership: Please pray that God give us strength spiritually and physically through our many travels.  And please pray that God gives Damien more love, wisdom, and dependence on the Holy Spirit as our team leader.
  3. Family: Please pray that our family trusts God deeply and that He give us a baby in His time.
