Shalom, Peace be with you! This month 32 new missionaries were commissioned through our training and sent all over America. The majority of this group had full careers before joining us. With their own trials and burdens they've prayerfully chosen to follow God’s calling for their lives.
One of our new missionaries is Romanian. She says her family originally came here in search of the American dream. She was raised in America and majored in engineering. God was not a priority in her life but when she was a freshman she wondered what her purpose in life was. She struggled with depression, insecurities, self-worth, and purpose in life. She told us “I started seeking God and He heard me.”
She heard about Cru and although she wasn't interested at first, she walked into a room with over 1000 students worshiping God and had never seen anything like this before. She realized how different this was when she heard the talk about sharing faith and reaching the campus and the world. She attended more Cru training conferences until she was discipled by 4 different women over a period of years which eventually led her to our training to be commissioned as a missionary serving the campus ministry.
Another new missionary’s parents were divorced 20 years ago and although his mom remarried when he was 11 years old that marriage had problems as well. Sitting in his aunt’s house and crying about losing another father his aunt told him about God’s role as a father to the father less. His life began to change. He now has a wonderful marriage and was working in IT. Having a passion for marriage ministry he was trying to get local churches to begin family ministries. He went to Cru’s Family Life headquarters and realizing that he was not alone in his passion God began leading him to be commissioned as a missionary with Cru’s Family Life through our training.
Please pray for these new missionaries, their families, and the ministries God has called them to.
