Ending a Semester and Thanksgiving

Shalom!  Peace be with you.  How have you been?  Spring is ending and it’s already 96° here in Florida.  It’s summer vacation for our students.  In the last month we’ve remembered God’s provision and had the chance to say goodbye to a few dear ones.

Damien was a part of the “Campus Ministry Summit” to share about what God has done in the last year while asking people to be a part of what God is leading us to do in the coming years.  Here is just a snippet of what was shared at the Summit.  Through the Campus Ministry around the world in the last year from 2,581 ministry locations: 25.1 million heard the gospel, 378,564 became Christians, and 36, 874 engaged personally in evangelism.  This is truly worthy of praising the Lord over.  At the same time we know God is able to do immeasurably more than we could ask or think so as the Campus Ministry we are asking the Lord for more in the next 2 school years.  We’re  praying for: 100 million to hear the gospel, 1.5 million new believers to come into His Kingdom, 56,000 people to be engaged in evangelism, and 600 new ministry locations to be started.  Please join us in prayer and thanksgiving as we follow the Lord’s leading for this next phase of ministry.

We also said goodbye a few times this month.  We had two interns on our team this year who came to the end of their internship but in the end decided to join with us as full-time missionaries!  So this is a temporary goodbye as they leave us to go through the complete missionary training then go to raise up their ministry partner team.  Pray with us for Jon Csaplar (photo middle back) and Tony John Nguyen (photo front purple) that the Lord will use the training and ministry partner development time to transform them more into the image of  His son Jesus.

One goodbye this month was a little harder than the others.  Damien’s Great Aunt Reather passed away at the age of 96.  She was the matriarch of the family and more like a grandmother to Damien and his sister.  We are thankful we were able to be with the family in Illinois for the memorial and thankful for the reminder from the Lord of the significance of family.  We choose other relationships in life but He gave us the family we have for a purpose in us.  We’re thankful for Aunt Reather’s purpose in us and in our family.

And we are thankful for you.  God absolutely had divine purpose in appointing you in our lives.  You are in our prayers.  Thank you.

Prayer Requests

1. Continue to pray for Damien as he works to prepare next year’s Big Break.  Thank you for praying for the location.  We are nearly confirmed for 2018.

2. Our team will be spread out for our summer ministry assignments.  Jung Hye and I are preparing the Short-term International Missionary Team Leaders Training.  Pray that we serve with God’s heart this summer and that we come back together as one well before the new semester.

3. Pray that God gives us good health and that He gives us a baby in His time.
