Global Leadership Office and the President’s Staff Team
Shalom! Peace be with you. How have you been? We had a refreshing and meaningful sabbatical last month. We’d like to share one thing in particular God used the time for, which was to lead us to our next steps in ministry. We’ve prayed for years for the many needs in the mission we’ve seen around the world. We’ve prayed that we would be used to serve in conference ministry not just in America or Korea but all over the world. Not knowing when or how we just prayed to be used by God in this way one day.
At the end of last year the Cru Global Leadership Office (GLO) contacted us about an opportunity. We met, heard their vision for us working with them, and spent our sabbatical in prayer. It didn’t take us too long to understand that God was in this answering our long time prayer so by faith we are stepping into a new role with the ministry. As part of the President’s staff team (partially pictured above) we will be focused on supporting and helping our Global Student led, Global Church Movements, Leader Impact, Digital Strategies, and other strategies all over the world to build spiritual movements everywhere. We’ll be focused specifically on doing this through the vehicle of conferences. We are excited and honored to be able to help support and connect global leaders who will serve and raise disciples in their various locations all over the globe. Please pray that we will learn and adjust to the new ministry well. Thank you for your prayers.
Puerto Rico Aid
Our first activity with our new team was to serve together in Puerto Rico. Five months after hurricane Irma, many people there still have homes, schools, and other buildings heavily damaged. Our new team tarped a school’s damaged roof, cleared out one family’s home of items destroyed by rain water, sorted and packed food/toiletries for distribution to the hurricane victims, and we encouraged and prayed with our Puerto Rican brothers and sisters alongside GAiN (the humanitarian partner of Cru, Global Aid Network).
The elementary school whose roof we tarped had 3 classrooms closed because of the leaking water. The students were moved to a temporary classroom made in the cafeteria. The teachers and the children were all very sweet and appreciative. Their classrooms will need to be cleaned but they are now useable again.
Staging in a church, we met a church member while we were packing the food & toiletries. She said that her house had some damage but was mostly repaired so she comes to help pack whenever she has time. There are still large sections of the island with no power or running water and many are still waiting their turn for help from wherever it can come. Please pray for our Puerto Rican brothers and sisters and the many people doing relief activities so that God’s love would be felt through hands of service.
Thank you for your prayers, love, and financial support. It’s a blessing partnering with you. We pray that God’s grace and blessing will be with you and your family. With Love, Damien and Jung Hye
