Happy Easter! Peace be with you! We pray you and your family are healthy. We’ve organized and conducted many trainings and conferences online these days, and we are more full than ever. Pray that we follow the Holy Spirit’s guidance moment by moment as we seek His wisdom and creativity.
One recent event was the Global Leadership Conference, held online for 3 days. 1,785 continental and national leaders from over 155 countries attended. We served on the design team as we prayed and prepared for this conference. The conference was a time to praise God for what He has done over the past 10 years and encourage the missionaries who lead and serve with us. We glorified God through the ministry statistics and life-changing testimonies. Their are too many to share but below are a few of those stories.
We have seen God open ministries on 4,266 new campuses worldwide and increase our multiplying/engaged disciples over 250% in just the past five years. Karini, was one of those multiplying students. She lives in Brazil and came to Christ through a Cru student sharing their faith with her. She received evangelism training as a student and shared Jesus with others. Seeing disciples raised up, her faith deepen and her leadership grew. After recently graduating, Karini got a job as an engineer. At work, unlike college, she did not find many opportunities to share the gospel, but she has already been able to have spiritual conversations with a few colleagues. Although a new employee, she was asked by the company to pray for the factory and for the people at a weekly work safety meeting. We praise God for Karini and former students like her looking and praying for opportunities every day to share Christ in the workplace.
Where it is difficult to spread the Gospel, digital ministry is being used very effectively. A missionary in an undisclosed location met a refugee on the street and shared their testimony and passion for reaching out to Muslims. The missionary learned this person was already a faithful believer so they asked, "How did you come to know Jesus?" They answered they received discipleship training through a Cru website. That believer is a doctor who wants to share Christ through medical missions in their region.
On the last day of the Global Leadership Conference, we had a time to pray for the lost. We believe and pray that lost from all over the world will come to Jesus through your precious partnership. Thank you.
- Global Restructuring: Cru is restructuring the global ministry to be more effective in reaching people for Christ. Pray that new leadership, teams, and structures will be utilized in the best ways under the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
- Family: Please pray that we walk with God moment by moment becoming more and more a family filled with the Holy Spirit. Pray the Lord gives us spiritual and physical strength to serve Him and pray that God gives us a baby in His time.
