Peace be with you. We pray that you and your family are all in good health. We’ve been very full preparing multiple hybrid (both online and onsite) conferences. We’ll have global participants primarily attend online and US based participants attend onsite events with social distancing precautions. With the health and safety priorities of the last year we need more wisdom and knowledge as we prepare. Pray for that and above all, we ask you to pray for us to follow the Holy Spirit’s guidance moment by moment as we seek God’s purposes for these conferences.
Global Church Movements
Last month, we served with Global Church Movements for the Bold Moves conference. 152 countries, with 1,592 missionaries and partners attended online from their respective locations. These missionaries and partners are doing ministry around the world to share the Gospel, disciple, and plant churches. During the conference we had a time to thank God for what He has done through this first 10 years of the Global Church Movements. It was an inspiring time in general sessions and small groups to discuss applying what was shared in our own contexts. We heard from leaders: Pastor/Dr. Peter Tan Chi from CCF church in the Philippines that began an evangelistic home Bible study and now has 100,000 members and over 70 satellite campuses, Vice President/Dr. Paul Eshleman with the Jesus Film Project who began 25 years of work creating, translating and distributing the Jesus Film into languages accessible to nearly everyone on the planet, Pastor/Dr. Rick Warren from Saddleback church which is recognized as one of the most influential churches in America, and Vice President/Dr. Bekele Shanko of Global Church Movements with Cru.
Changed life
One of the stories we celebrate from that last decade is about a brother who was a strong muslim. He watched the Jesus Film and gave his life to Christ several years ago. When he became a Christian, his wife left him and his relatives took his four children. He was even threatened with death. Even now, he must travel 6 miles to purchase items as no one in his area will sell him anything. At one time, he even thought of going back to Islam because of these difficulties, but when he considered it, he never had peace. He became a missionary in 2016, now preaches the Gospel, and has already planted 8 churches in Western Africa. He was recently remarried to a wonderful Christian woman. Through the Global Church Movements, many people like this now missionary hear the Gospel, change their lives, preach the Gospel, make disciples, and plant churches.
Please pray that the Gospel will be preached to the places in need and that the lives of many people will be changed through missionaries and partners around the world. We believe and pray that many of the lost from all over the world will come to Jesus through your precious partnership. Thank you!
